Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld is constantly working to optimise its products in order to improve ease of use and durability. In this spirit, the company has once again improved upon the unique Gothic Arch sharpening technology.

Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld - the Perfection of sharpening technology for razor blades

The Gothic Arch II combines the following features:

1. Precise polishing for an even more thorough and comfortable shave
2. Longer use from longer blade life - up to 21 shaves per blade

Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld razors guarantee a smooth, clean shave and last longer than common shaving razors.

Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld - special cutting technology of razor blades

In razor-cutting technology, the "Gothic Arch" is also known as the "cathedral cut". It refers to a blade's profile and denotes a cut pointed arch. The name has its origins in architecture, where the arch is regarded as a central Gothic element.
This technology has been used for several hundred years in custom-cut blades. But until a few years ago, this seemed to be impossible in the belt grinding process, which is used for razor blades.

The Differences in Blade Cutting Technologies
Standard cutting technology and the "Gothic Arch II"

Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld - standard cutting technology and the

1. The acute angle
In this case, razor blades are cut at a very acute angle. The blades are very sharp, which enables an excellent shave. Due to the extremely thin tip, the razor blades do not last long. Often, these blades become unusable after just one shave.

2. The obtuse angle
A blade cut at an obtuse angle will last longer. At the same time, the razor blade does not shave well. It is blunt from the beginning.

3. Bevelled edge (state-of-the-art)
Standard razor blades have a bevelled edge. With various sharpening angles – usually three – the blades are facetted. This enables a good shave and means that the blades will have a normal shelf life.

4. The Gothic Arch II – unique cutting technology by Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld
In blade technology, the "Gothic Arch II" represents the best kind of shave. The "Gothic Arch II" guarantees easily the best shaving results and a razor that lasts a lot longer, sometimes in the region of several weeks.

The Uniqueness of the Gothic Arch

The "Gothic Arch" cutting technology was first introduced by brand manufacturer Gillette a good 10 years ago. The required technological process is extremely laborious and complex. After years of intensive research based on tests and mathematical calculations, Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld was able to develop this special technology itself and has been using it successfully for four years.

The ability to cut a gothic arch reflects Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld's expertise and exemplifies premium "Made in Germany" quality. For 90 years now, we have been constantly expanding the precision of our manufacturing technology, our in-house product development and our market expertise in premium-quality razors, razor systems and razor blades.
